Objectives:

Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Feel comfortable dealing with ExRx in a clincal setting for any level of individual ability 
  • Understand the role uncertainty plays in rehabilitation 
  • Understand and implement interventions based on the envelope of function, optimal load, and minimum effective dosage 
  • Prescribe exercise dosage based on specific tissue adaptation goals 
  • Explain and implement autoregulatory approaches 
  • Develop specialized exercises to achieve rehab goals
  • Understand an implement the training fundamentals of accommodation, continuity, individuality, progression, specificity, synergy, and variability
  • Critically apply concepts of dosage including load, volume of work, and rest periods
  • Develop a concise, efficient, and effective home exercise program
  • Progress, regress and lateralize exercises
  • Perform a patient needs analysis and program based upon it
  • Implement strategies to develop change of direction, rate of force development, and stretch shortening cycle 
  • Encourage patient independence and wellness
