Handheld Dynamometer Testing Principles
- Be sure that the force you can produce exceeds that of the tested limb. Use good mechanics, keep the resistance perpendicular to the limb, and use straps as needed.
- Take a minimum of two measures. If these are not similar take a third.
- Use reproducible positioning and landmarks to maximize re-test reliability.
