RPE Based Training Approaches Visual
This visual compliments the blog post on the topic done here. I believe the wording was changed slightly but the principle applies. Manipulation of these three variables within a session gives a great degree of individual flexibility while also establishing a goal that the clinician/coach can work towards. The examples given below are three randomly selected ones and should not be considered as any kind of a suggested guideline.
A alternating volume/strength approach taking one day to a max effort at established reps and the next to max reps at an established weight is a superb approach to training. Once I reflected on this I realized that this is basically what the westside method does with repeated effort and max effort. I went with tissue protection based on the audience as a third approach since this can be a constraint that clinicians face.
